Book Review: Pleasures and Sorrows of Work by Alain de Botton

We give it: **
Although not as brilliantly, the "Pleasures and Sorrows of Work" continues the theme of identity set out in de Botton's "Stress Anxiety", but mostly through work showing how even mundane jobs can be interesting, how the people behind them perceive themselves and the world around them. Again there is much more to it than we think.
It is also more of a little narrative discovery journey of the beautiful, the scary and the fascinating in perfectly ordinary everyday things like tuna. Amazing facts and stories that we hardly ever think about when we simply consume something or meet someone. However this second book is a little bit of a drag especially in comparison with the first one so I would give it two stars and definitely for adult bookworms.
